The Iloilo City Community College (ICCC) is offering free courses for incoming first year students for school year 2019-2020.
These are Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) and Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA). The entrance exam is scheduled on April 17.
Deserving city youth are encouraged to avail of the free college education and scholarship program, with the City Government giving P1,000 stipend to qualified scholars.
ICCC officer-in-charge Catalina Sanico said they visit public schools to advise students to enroll at ICCC which offers free miscellaneous, tuition fees, as well as scholarship from Commission on High Education (CHED).
The courses are open to residents; graduates of city public school; parents are bonafide residents and voters of city, with family annual income of P240,000; and with general weighted average of 82 percent or above, and no grade lower than 80 percent.
Interested applicants must secure their birth certificate either original or Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) authenticated, original report card, original income tax return of parents or Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) tax exemption certificate, original barangay clearance of applicant, original good moral character, voter’s certification of parent or photocopy of voter’s identification card, two pieces 2x2 identification picture, and white long folder.
“Our courses are in demand. Even before graduation, we are conducting job fairs together with Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies and other private firms. They want to employ our students. Some are also working at City Hall,” Sanico said.
A total of 135 students will graduate on April 12 in a ceremony at Diamond Jubilee Hall.
