More Power Security Team joins DEPED’S Brigada Eskwela

MORE Power’s Security Team took a pivotal role in nation-building as they led the way for the company’s involvement in the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela.

Ready with their cleaning and painting tools, some 50 security personnel took a day off to help the Rizal Elementary School and Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School in Iloilo City.

They cleaned the school grounds, and classrooms and even repaired the roofing.

MORE Power also donated additional paints for the school’s future use.

The teachers were very thankful for their dedication to ensuring that the school will be prepared just in time for the opening of the face-to-face classes on August 22, 2022.

“Ang MORE Power Security Guards, madasig mag-ubra, nabuligan gid nila kami sang daku. Ang amon quadrangle, naghawan kag nag sanag tungod sa ila ginubra nga pagpanglimpyo. In behalf sang manunudlo kag ginikanan kag estudyante diri sa Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School, nagapasalamat gid sang madamu,” says Ellen Guillano, Principal 1 of Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School.

Face-to-face classes were shelved for almost 2 years because of the pandemic. This year, they are set to resume, which is why the Education Department is doing all means necessary to ensure a safe space for the learners.

The DepEd campaigns for the spirit of volunteerism through Brigada Eskwela or the Schools maintenance week.

“Daku gid nga bulig sang MORE especially sang guardians of the environment. Kung wala sila, indi matigayon nga ready na ang eskwelahan sa pagbukas sini nga tuig,” says Yves Guillergan, School Admin Head, Rizal Elementary School.

Teachers and School administrators were very thankful because, in two years, they have seen an improvement in the school’s electricity quality including the service of the power distribution utility in Iloilo City.

“On my experience diri sa school we are very thankful, enough ang power supply diri. Although we experience brownouts but very seldom. In my own experience sa balay, wala gid ko problema sa kuryente kay daw enough ang power supply. Kung mag brownout man, naka schedule. Bal-an namon kung ano oras mag brownout. We can do some preparations. Although naka skedyul siya ma brownout for 6 hours, pero within 2-3 hours gabalik man na siya dayon. Manami serbisyo sang MORE. Salamat sa pagprovide sa amon sang electricity which is the basic need of everybody,” says Principal Ellen Guillano.

The teachers are expecting their electrical consumption will increase following the start of the face-to-face classes; however, they are confident as well that this will have a lesser impact because of the cheap power rate of MORE Power.

“Nag enjoy man ang mga teachers kag learners kag ang community, because sang serbisyo sang MORE name gid kay ang mga poste napahigad na ang mga kuryente, nakuha ang mga spaghetti wires. Amo na nga gapasalamat gid kami sa MORE Power,” says School Admin head, Yves Guillergan.
